Today we have seen him switch gears from Hasee Toh Phasee to A Gentleman quite easily but the star today, Sidharth Malhotra was once a simple, shy middle-class boy who hailed from Delhi. While acting was far-fetched dream for him then, today he is the heartthrob women swoon over. He has rarely spoken about his life before films and today, right before the release of his action packed adventure film A Gentleman, Sidharth gives a sneak peek into his life when he was a struggling actor.
From facing rent issues to affordability to rejection, Sidharth Malhotra’s amidst his honest confession of his world during his struggling days also revealed about how he spent his first pay cheque. Just like any other early 20s something guy who won a lottery, it was no less of a precious moment for Sidharth Malhotra when he was signed for Student Of The Year, especially considering the fact that it came from the house of Karan Johar. When he got his first pay cheque, which he clearly stated amounted to Rs. 1,10,000, it seems that the actor spent more than half of it partying.
Getting nostalgic about those days, Sidharth explained about how he took his then flat mates and a few of his other friends for dinner without telling them that he has signed a film. It was only after they came together did he tell them that he signed a Karan Johar film. The moment definitely called for a celebration and the group partied till the wee hours and when Sidharth called for the bill, it amounted to Rs. 55,000. But the actor has no regrets. He maintained that he would never get that moment again and it was very important for him to celebrate his first film even if it meant spending half of his first pay cheque. He asserted that he not only had fun but remembers the night even today.
As for Sidharth’s upcoming projects, besides A Gentleman – Sundar, Susheel, Risky which co-stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Sidharth Malhotra will also be seen in Ittefaq alongside Sonakshi Sinha.
